Tax Managing Director, Blockchain & Digital Assets
Seth Wilks is a tax and digital assets specialist with extensive experience across the private sector and government. He currently serves as Tax Managing Director for Blockchain & Digital Assets at Deloitte Tax LLP. Before joining Deloitte, Seth built deep expertise in cryptocurrency tax policy and compliance. He spent several years in senior roles at TaxBit, a leading digital asset tax and accounting software firm, where he led subject matter expert teams and worked on government relations and complex tax compliance issues tied to digital assets. In early 2024, Seth joined the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as Executive Director for Digital Asset Strategy and Development in the Office of Digital Asset Initiative, bringing his private-sector experience into federal tax administration to help shape digital asset reporting, compliance, and enforcement. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting with an emphasis in taxation from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant.
