Ali Comolli

TRM Labs

Ali Comolli is TRM Lab’s Global Capacity Building Lead, where she focuses on global capacity‑building for public sector partners — including training, technical assistance, and operational collaboration — to help agencies combat crypto‑enabled crime worldwide. In this role, she works with agencies across law enforcement, defense, national security, and regulatory communities, as well as international and public‑private partners, to translate complex digital asset risks into practical investigative strategies and training.

Before joining TRM Labs, Ali served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Digital Asset Coordinator for the Southern District of Florida, prosecuting a wide range of federal crimes including complex financial crimes, cyber, money laundering, narcotics, and firearms trafficking cases. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly a decade at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), serving as one of the Bureau’s earliest subject‑matter experts on virtual currency and illicit finance. At the FBI, she focused on tracing and disrupting virtual currency money laundering schemes and worked alongside agents and prosecutors across the country to develop innovative investigative strategies, unmask otherwise‑anonymous threat actors, and seize large‑scale illicit proceeds. She also founded the FBI’s Virtual Currency Response Team, an elite group of specialists that supported the Bureau’s most complex crypto investigations and designed the FBI’s first virtual currency training curriculum.

Ali is a proud graduate of Duke University – let’s go Duke!
