Americas Public Finance – Head of Cross Practice Team
Lisa Schroeer is a Managing Director and Analytical Manager, head of the cross-practice analytics team at S&P Global Ratings. She leads a national team of 15 analysts engaged in credit analysis, thought leadership, and market outreach across various public finance asset classes including state revolving fund/pools, local governments, higher education, housing, states, health care, charter schools and utilities.
Lisa is a key member of the Digitization of Markets global research group and S&P’s DeFi analytical team that recently launched the S&P Global Ratings Stablecoin Stability Assessment. She has also contributed to research on the credit implications of climate. Her work has been featured in the Financial Times, Blockworks, Project Syndicate, and the Bond Buyer. Additionally, Lisa’s accountabilities include global projects related to analytic innovation and consistency.
Lisa is a member of the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency, serves on the board of the Southern Municipal Finance Society, and participates in the National Municipal Finance Association. Lisa created and hosted “Extra Credit”, a monthly podcast focused on S&P’s municipal finance ratings and related topics, from 2018-2020.
Prior to joining S&P Global Ratings, Lisa worked at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC, and at Economic and Planning Systems in Berkeley.
Lisa holds a B.A. in Economics from Wellesley College and an M.P.P. from the University of California, Berkeley.
